Design Process

“Our philosophy is that a yacht has to ‘fit’ its owner, like a tailor-made Italian suit. That’s only possible if everything is made-to-measure according to the owner’s wishes and ideas. It’s sometimes hard for outsiders to understand certain choices that are made onboard, or they’re not the choices they would make themselves. That’s understandable – after all, no two people are the same. Our customs are built for its owner and for nobody else. That’s the great thing about custom building. If the owner is happy we are too.”

Building Process

KM Yachtbuilders is one of the few yards in which all disciplines of yacht building are represented. From the aluminum hull to the carpentry and from the electricity to the mast. We do everything in-house to ensure our proof of quality.

Custom 1/1 – Bestevaer 62 ‘Luskentyre’ – Exterior
Custom 1/1 – Bestevaer 62 ‘Luskentyre’ – The interior was inspired by the East India trading ships of the past, creating a unique style. Modified oak was used for the furniture and the floor makes clever use of the characteristic wood from an authentic barn. Besides its outer beauty, the yacht features all the latest technologies such as a hybrid engine, water maker, A/C, a lift keel and carbon rigging. All carefully integrated in the design, and mainly hidden from view.
